Mr Paul Merton enjoys his flight with Trans Euro Air Chief Pilot Richard Dale doing the honors.

Paul Merton flys with Trans Euro Air Ltd

October 2007

‘Love is in the Air’. This month we had a passenger flight request from Southend to Le Bourget, nothing unusual for us except it was a ‘Blind Date’. A car had been arranged to pick the couple up from London and bring them to Southend Airport in the evening, where we were waiting to whisk them away to Paris.

We had anticipated at touch of romance and added a Boxed Red Rose, Champagne and Belgium Chocolates to compliment the occasion. The route to Le Bourget took 1 hour 15 minutes and took them overhead the centre of Paris. With a clear night they had an excellent view of the Effiel Tower, Notre Dame and Sacré Coeur, all lit up in their splendour. They were met by a chauffer driven car and driven to a restaurant for a romantic meal. We were ready for them on their return and we arrived back at Southend at 02.30am. I’m sure they are still asleep as I write this, so the only feed back from the pilots said they looked ‘Very cosy’!

Precious Cargo

We had a phone call from a very happy customer yesterday thanking us for making their flight to Limoges very enjoyable. The couple were moving to France. The wife had never been outside the UK, or on an aeroplane in her life! She suffered very badly with travel sickness making even a short car journey difficult for her to make. She was determined to make this flight as their precious cargo "Ben", a Burmese cat is blind, and suffers with Diabetes. She had been told by the vet that a long journey would be very stressful for Ben.

Their journey took a little over 2 hours door to door. Our passenger was so busy looking out of the window that she wasn't troubled by her ailment and they have now settled down to life in France. We feel it is important to cater to every passengers individual requirements and our patient pilot went out of his way to make our nervous passenger feel very comfortable and our catering pack even uncluded nibbles for Ben. We wish the Bunston's every happiness in their retirement.

Sporting Gesture

We may not have been able to fix the score for England to beat France in the recent Six Nations Rugby match but we did manage to get a passenger there in plenty of time for the game. Its just one and a quarter hours flight from Southend into Le Bourget, then just five minutes drive to the Stad De France. Catering for a breakfast flight our passenger had time for a leisurely lunch on arrival even supper before departure back to the UK. Although just one passenger on this occasion, a group of three couldn't get the Eurostar train cheaper!

Was this really Santa ?

When a courier had a red hot urgent shipment to hand deliver to a remote part of central France, we were able to bring him within 10km's of his ultimate destination, and fly him home again that afternoon. His package was delivered, and he made it there and back within 6 hours, back in time for Eastenders !

Horses for Courses

A DC8 cargo aircraft was in Ostend, Belgium and developed a technical fault. The nearest spare was in Kent. On board the DC8 were thoroughbred race horses and time was running out fast.
We immediately dispatched the Seneca, and picked up the spare and an engineer. We arrived in Ostend in time for the DC8 to depart on time with it's precious load.

A Cornwall business man was in Essex for a meeting when his pregnant wife called to let him know she had gone into labour. Having traveled to the area by train a quick return journey was just not possible. Trans Euro Air help move the local economy

We were asked to quote a charter for a local businessman who needed to go to the Channel Islands for a three hour meeting. Initially we were told that it was too expensive and he had decided to got via a scheduled carrier from Gatwick. However, the gentleman called the following day to book the charter, he explained that when he took into account the fact that our door to door time saved over 6 hours and he wouldn't need an overnight stay, we were the only cost effective option.
